Mackenzy's Legacy is a grassroots movement of parents advocating for safer childcare in the province of Alberta.  We work towards establishing safer legislation and preventing future harm to children.  We work within our local communities to capture the stories of both parents and providers to represent their voices.

 

Mackenzy's Legacy is built upon the memory of Mackenzy Woolfsmith.  Mackenzy was tragically killed at her dayhome in 2012 just shy of her second birthday.  A fatality inquiry was completed in 2018 which resulted in 10 recommendations aimed at enhancing the safety of our children in all forms of childcare.
